Indian startups need their Krishna to win the new-age ‘Mahabharata’

Unlike other developed economies – when the  leaders of Flipkart and Ola came together to seek some form of protection  from the government against companies dumping foreign capital to capture market share. They were scoffed at by the elite and criticised by the media. Contrast this to China – where the government has kept the tech sector tightly regulated and has invested billions of dollars in Alibaba and Didi Chuxing through its Sovereign Wealth Fund. It has constantly changed policy to favour local companies and the result is evident to everyone – Amazon, Uber, Facebook, Google, Twitter, YouTube have all lost out to Chinese companies. Having lost out in China, these companies have retrained their laser-sharp focus on the Indian market. With the US companies turning their eyes to India and the Chinese companies becoming big enough to compete against their US counterparts – India will be the Kurukshetra of this battle – and Indians will be ...

“Beach” - GOA Please!

Source: rantapallo.fi How often has this thought of “ heading home and picking bags and get out of the city ” hit you? If you`re anything like me then a gasp of “ YES ” would have already come out of your mouth by now. Anyways, I wanted to keep this as a solo trip and Goa was the first place which popped in my head and because of which you are reading this blog. For years holidaying, has been synonymous with Goa . Of course, most of those trips are planned with friends. Mine, initially, was also no different. But the thing is, most of these planned Goa trips never work . Especially when it comes to Goa. It’s been a long that I had my scuba dive though first ever in Goa. My friend’s wedding anniversary gave us an opportunity to go to Goa which was our ultimate destination and of course, the Dive site.  We have been planning our Goa trip for ages but due to the “Office Workload” we had to manage our trip in 5 days only. Rather covering entire goa, we...

Reduced Options Equals Increased Conversions!

Image
Hello Digilites, Since the Inception of Digital Marketing, more and more consumer driven companies have already started to make their presence felt online and to reach to their potential customers with a mind set to be accepted as a brand which is present everywhere and every time . But having to have a well-groomed website with all the bells and whistles do not necessarily means a win-win situation, But to offer customers what they actually want that too with a clear content is the key. Though o ne of the most common tenets of conversion optimization is that fewer options = higher conversions . When you give people too many options, they get confused trying to compare them, and end up choosing no option . The hypothesis isn’t far-fetched. If a SaaS company offers 7 different pricing plans, many visitors won’t know which plan is best for them, and end up leaving without signing up. If the company reduced it to 3 plans, they would likely achieve higher conversions. ...

Kasol: The Israel of India

Image
My heart pumped wildly even before I was exposed to the trippy air of Kasol . No, it wasn't because I was smoking up. The road leading to this popular hill station is so nerve-rackingly dangerous that every time the car took a sharp turn (and there were plenty of those), I looked out the window with trepidation. On one side of the highway stands massive and mean looking rocks that threaten to slide on to the road causing havoc. And on the other side is the Beas river with an unrelenting current. The car had to tread a delicate path between these two stubborn natural obstacles. The life of 5 passengers (including mine) was entirely in the hands of the driver and there was no margin for error whatsoever.  Tosh: Where Time Stands Still The sun had set by the time I stepped inside the Energy Cafe for snacks. The smell of hash reeked from every corner of the dim lit cafe with Bob Marley posters on the walls. In time, I realised that Bob Marley is the God, Schnitz...

While a manager's recourse greatly depends on the problems and people they're dealing with, there are a few tips they can follow to better address them. In the info-graphic below, the folks at Wrike have put together hel...
